Here’s your roundup of the best things to do around San Jose this weekend—check out an art & wine festival, Viva Calle, and one of the best poke spots around.

🌟3 Weekend Events to Attend

  • When: Sat. (9/7) 11AM-7PM, Sun. (9/8) 10AM-6PM

  • Where: Downtown Mountain View (Castro St., from El Camino Real to Evelyn Ave.)

  • Price: Free admission

  • Description: One of the most popular festivals in the South Bay, featuring over 350 artists and makers—and, of course, wine! Grab a glass and check out the collaborative paint temple, live band performances, Italian street painting, food vendors, and more.

  • When: Sun. (9/8), 10AM-3PM

  • Where: The Municipal Rose Garden, Japantown, and Roosevelt Park

  • Price: Free admission

  • Description: Don’t miss the last Viva Calle event of the year! This much-loved event encourages you to walk/bike/skate through its 3 activity hubs. Across the Rose Garden, Japantown, and Roosevelt Park, there will be a culture night market, the SJZ Boombox Truck, Pro Wrestling Revolution, food trucks, free bike repairs, and more.

  • When: Sat. (9/7), 8AM-5PM

  • Where: 19401 Stevens Creek Boulevard, Cupertino, CA 95014

  • Price: Free admission

  • Description: Get an early start to your Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations this year with dragon and lion dances, mooncakes, food stalls, special Taisugar orchid sales, live performances, and more.

  • Where: 1401 N. Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View, CA 94043

  • Price: $19.50 adult admission

  • Description: We can’t live in Silicon Valley without knowing a bit about technology. Expand your horizons on all things computing by learning about its 2,000-year history, trying coding, and more.

🍽️ 1 Restaurant to Try

  • Where: 245 E Taylor St, San Jose, CA 95112

  • Description: One of the best takeout poke spots around the area with fresh, authentic flavors. Try their tuna poke bowl ($13) or half-half poke bowl ($13).* They’re also famous for their giant fresh strawberry mochi—however, these are only available Tuesdays and Saturdays, and you should come before 10AM since they sell out quickly.

  • Description: A new go-to for authentic comfort Chinese eats. Try their yellow braised chicken sizzling pot ($13.99), bone soup rice noodle ($15.99), and classic side dishes ($5.59-$7.59).*

  • Where: 4300 Great America Pkwy Ste 100, Santa Clara, CA 95054

  • Description: A small, cozy spot for delicious curry with large portions. Try their karaage chicken curry ($20), tonkatsu curry ($20), and menchi-katsu curry ($20).*
