Here are a few last-minute ideas for celebrating July 4th:
When: Thurs. (7/4), Parade 9:45AM-12PM, Festival 11AM-3PM
Where: 1100 Shasta Ave., San José, CA 95126 (see parade & festival map)
Price: Free admission
Description: Pull up for an exciting day of July 4th festivities before you go watch fireworks. There will be a parade of classic cars, bands, and community groups. After the parade, grab a bite at the food trucks and check out more entertainment at the festival (like wrestling matches by Pro Wrestling Revolution from 12:30-2PM).
When: Thurs. (7/4), 3-10PM
Where: Almaden Lake Regional Park (6099 Winfield Blvd, San Jose, CA 95120)
Price: Free admission
Description: Enjoy live music, a half-time show, a fun zone, and fireworks at this 9th annual event. Fireworks begin at around 9:15 PM.
When: Thurs. (7/4), 7-10PM
Where: Lake Cunningham Park (2305 S. White Rd, San Jose, CA 95148)
Price: Free admission
Description: Enjoy live music, food trucks, and fireworks at this first ever event. Fireworks begin at 9PM.

Where: Santa Clara Convention Center (Free parking at 5001 Great America Parkway and 2525 Tasman Drive)
Price: Free admission
Description: Escape the heat wave at this large-scale indoor maker festival. Check out 300+ small businesses, a kitten lounge (buy tickets), a Y2K photobooth, and a keycap making workshop. Plus, the first 1,000 attendees each day will get a free door giveaway.
When: Sat. and Sun. (7/6-7/7), 12-10PM
Where: Plaza de Cesar Chavez (1 Paseo De San Antonio, San Jose, CA 95113)
Price: Free admission
Description: Get a taste of India at this food festival celebrating Indian cuisine and culture. With 150+ varieties of Indian food, live entertainment from 300+ artists, an Open Air Bollywood Glow Party, and a celebrity appearance from Bollywood star Preity Zinta, you’re in for an action-packed (and delicious) event.
When: Fri. (7/5), 5-9PM
Where: Berryessa Night Market (1590 Berryessa Rd, San Jose, CA 95133)
Price: Free admission with $5 parking
Description: Grab a new leafy friend (while supporting local small businesses!) at this night market for rare and exotic plants. There will also be craft beer and food trucks featuring dishes like fried chicken sandwiches, birria tacos, and cheesy loaded baked potatoes.

Description: San Jose’s largest used book store. Get wonderfully lost among shelves and shelves of books—and say hello to the adorable store cats!

Description: Beat the heat with award-winning matcha ice cream and drinks. Try their Uji matcha taiyaki ($7.50), strawberry matcha latte ($7), and classic honey matcha latte ($7).*
