  • When: Fri. (7/19), 5-9PM

  • Description: See if you can take the heat at this spicy food festival. There will be food trucks serving everything from spicy fusion pizzas to dim sum dishes (and of course, ice cream for when you need to cool things down).

  • When: Sat. (7/20), 7-10PM

  • Where: St. James Park (N 2nd St &, E St James St, San Jose, CA 95112)

  • Price: Free admission

  • Description: Watch the classic comedy movie “Kicking and Screaming” under the stars while celebrating the San Jose Earthquakes’ 50th Anniversary. The movie will start at 8 PM, but you can show up at 7 PM for free activities like a Quakes mascot photo op, DIY candle making workshop, and t-shirt screen printing session. Local restaurants will also be offering special 10-20% discounts.

  • When: Sat. & Sun (7/20-7/21), 10AM-4PM

  • Where: Alden Lane Nursery (981 Alden Lane, Livermore, CA 94550)

  • Price: Free admission

  • Description: Support local artists at this art fair in a grove of centuries-old oak trees. There will also be live music and tasters from local wineries for you to enjoy as you stroll around.

🚗1 Place to Visit

  • Where: Bair Island Road Redwood City, CA 94063

  • Price: Free admission

  • Description: The largest island in the South Bay (and a hotspot for birds and marine wildlife)! Wind down from the week by going for a relaxing sunset walk this Friday night. A guide will take you on an easy 1-mile walk, and if you bring binoculars, you can catch sight of protected birds like peregrine falcons, pelicans, and egrets.

  • Description: A family-run hidden gem in downtown San Jose. Swing by to try their Nam Vang white noodle soup ($17.49), chicken pho ($17.99), and Vietnamese cruller ($3.25).*

  • Description: A new smash burger joint, open until midnight every day to satisfy your late night cravings. Burgers are super affordable—try their blondy cheeseburger ($6.50), waffle fries ($5), and let-tus smash burger ($5.50).

  • Description: A cute new cafe that offers Vietnamese coffees, teas, and assorted sandwiches. Try their Vietnamese egg coffee ($8.50) and matcha drinks ($8.50). There’s also free wifi and plenty of seating options—perfect if you’re looking for a spot to do some work!
